Early one sunny Saturday morning, Laverne was reading the newspaper
whilst Larry was making their favourite breakfast
of scrambled eggs on toast.
“Oh Larry, look
at this” Laverne cried as she turned the pages. The bold headline on the page read ‘Another
Monkey Goes Missing from Zoo!'. Laverne looked up from her paper.
“Golly, that’s the fourth monkey to go missing from animal attractions
recently. What on earth could be happening?”
Larry raised an eyebrow in consideration and poured her a cup of coffee.
“Mm, it does sound rather suspicious but there could be a perfectly reasonable
explanation for it all” he said.
“Perhaps Larry but four missing monkeys? That doesn’t sound like a coincidence to me” Laverve replied.
She took a drink of coffee then continued to read.
“The thefts seem to focus
on monkeys but animal sanctuaries have been alerted to increase security.”
Larry served the scrambled eggs and sat down.
“Perhaps we should pay a visit to our local zoo and have a look around ourselves and offer any
help” he suggested.
Laverne nodded in agreement.
“Splendid idea Larry, let’s go today since the weather is nice.”
